Food Business License
Starting a restaurant in Thailand involves more than just setting up the business. One of the key requirements is obtaining the necessary food licenses. This ensures that your restaurant complies with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and local laws. At Prachya Accounting AEC, we help you navigate the process of obtaining the necessary permits and licenses to operate legally in Thailand.
Why do you need a license?
Opening a restaurant or selling food legally is considered a business that causes harm to consumer health or causes annoyance to residents in nearby neighborhoods.
Therefore, there is a law that "Anyone who will establish a place to sell food or a place to collect food must first get permission from local authorities" by making a certificate of notification or applying for a license.
If you open a restaurant business without applying for a license or certificate correctly, what will happen?
- No license, imprisonment of not more than 6 months, fine not more than 50,000 baht.
- No notification certificate, imprisonment of up to 3 months, fine of up to 25,000 baht.
